I keep writing updates for the “Deathfire” Kickstarter page and other places, and I feel it is time to follow up here as well for a change – although I hope most of you are following the developments of our Kickstarter.
It has been one week exactly since the launch of the campaign ad we have 2,000 backers, resulting in almost $64,000 in funding. Not a bad interim result, but not quite good enough. We still have a lot of work to do in order to reach our goal.
In order to attract more backers I’ve been incredibly busy, following up with the press and trying to get interviews done etc. But we’ve also be working on ways to make our rewards more attractive, and yesterday, for example, we have added novels to many of our reward tiers. And not just any novels.
Colin McComb, who many of you may know as one of the designers of “Planescape: Torment” and the new “Torment: Tides of Numenera” that inXile is currently developing, is also a fantastic novelist, and has agreed to throw in copies of his “Oathbreaker” books for many of our backers. They are available as digital eBooks, as well as in the physical tiers where you can get them as paperback copies.
We are currently working on a number of other items that we will hopefully be able to include in reward tiers, but as always, it is a lot of work to put the proper infrastructure in place, and days just seem somehow too short as of late…
If you haven’t been following our Kickstarter updates, you really should, because I’ve outlined a number of the features and technologies that will go in the game. Since I have not had the time to also copy them on this site, the Kickstarter updates are currently the only places to get the information.
And then, of course, there are the interview that begin to show up around the web, such as the one on “Rock, Paper, Shotgun” this morning. Keep your eyes peeled, there’s more to come.
